CSC isn't well loved here. Their previous offerings have not been of great quality. I'm unaware of the company selling their bags in boutiques or physical stores, which makes it difficult for many of us to try out a bag.

Yes. Bought my satchel at Cambridge store.
Kept 1 month, then donated.
Honestly, designs scream, "school child" & have some use issues.
But best of luck gathering material for your blog.:amuse:

That’s not true that CSC isn’t appreciated here. I think they are but their eponymous satchels do come across as for a younger consumer. When PFers ask for suggestions about an age-appropriate gift for a child or teenager, this is always brought up as an option so it is perfectly well-thought of for its category

The doctor’s bag looks gorgeous. Leather looks lovely. But it looks heavy. Reminds me of Marc Jacobs.

I have a silver satchel as you may know. They're great for the price.

I like the Doctor's bag and the Sophie (smaller size doc) and they are supposed to be a premium and made in Spain so not typical of the company which is presumably why they cost more, but I don't like any of the colours at all apart from the dark red and that's a bit too brown for a dark red. Go and check them out but I think they're expensive for what they are.

I have the Doctor's bag in the light blue colour. As a bag out of context I do like it but it's not really premium quality/product.

The colour is lovely and because it was lighter colour I have only started wearing it this week. The leather is very soft and with suprisingly large grain size, calf I assume. It has a wonderfully evenly set lining and it does fit a ton. So a lovely bag as a handheld bag. On its own not heavy.

Handheld bag mostly because the strap has the extending buckle and all the stuff that come with the strap right where you keep your hand as you toss it to your shoulder. This is a clear design flaw. And I imagine carrying it on the shoulder will make it evetually flatter on the side that is against your body.

I've only used it for a tiny while, but even now it does make me wonder how the lock will continue to align as the hinges start to eventually loosen a de-align. And I have two other basic, unlined CSC products which have buckles labeled with Cambridge text in the hardware but then their premium one doesn't! The hardware doesn't hold up to even their own regular product standards.

Also the large doctor's bag was lauched as a speciality but then almost a week later the smaller Sophie was put out and it felt almost as if they were tricking you to buy the larger one as now I would definately buy AND recommend the smaller one. I know no one forced me to buy among the first ones. Just worried if the larger one will start sagging quicker than the small one. Right now it doesn't sag.

Also the launch was said to happen in early April...got mine shipped the day I ordered it in Feb. So something feels wrong with their pitch and advertisement.

So in all, will wear the bag, it's quirky and gets noticed with positive feelings, but I would wait for offers or go for the small one.

I own several bags of the Cambridge Satchel company and I'm very happy about the quality of the leather (my oldest is from their first year and it's still in great condition despite being used very often). I do have to say, that some of the newer ones have not the same quality hardware as the old ones. But I still love them.

I did visit and they look very nice in real life. I considered the doctors or the Sophie for travel. They look nice handheld but there is also a strap for practicality. Fit tons.
My only gripe is that the handle is not a ‘proper’ stiff handle.

There are 4 stores in the UK, the Flagship of course is in Cambridge. The Doctor's Satchel is beautiful! I have one in the Havana Brown.
