Hi everyone!

I'm currently debating on ordering a custom made Rogue bag and thinking about getting one with snake handles. I am wondering for those who have carried theirs if they have noticed any lifting or peeling of the scales? Do I have to be extra careful carrying snake handles? I'm a newbie to exotics. I apologize if there's another thread out there discussing this, but I'm more interested in the Rogue handles specifically.

Thanks in advance!

Leslie

I have one, I'm actually currently selling it too boot! It's the Rogue 36 with olive green and snake handles, only used for a week and found out it's just too heavy for me. As far as the snake handles go, I never used those. I just tucked them. I liked the shoulder strap. I'm not a satchel carrying girl. I like shoulder or crossbody. Do you plan on always carrying it like a satchel?

I'm interested in getting the 25 size and will most likely be carrying it by handles or crossbody. I heard the crossbody isn't comfortable because the buckles are right on the shoulder (bad design there). But I might also get a replacement strap so I can carry it crossbody. I would defiitely carry it by the handles here and there.

what color patterns do you want? I would look eBay, they are selling for less and you will save a lot of money. I wish I did that!

I have heard the snake does flake but I have no personal experience with that. I heard this from a few different SA at different FP stores and also have read it here. That is what snakes do, shed their skin. It does look cool though. I would guess that croc would hold up much better but it is a huge price tag! I personally like the look of croc better than snake too.

I heard croc does nothing against moisture, however-even a few drops can leave marks in the material. Scales lifting on python's never bothered me-not like they'd actually fall off like some embossed ones do, and leave white marks in their place.

I have the black Rogue with python handles and I love it! Coach applies a protective coating to their python and I haven't had a problem with the scales lifting even though I carry my bag by the python handles because they are too gorgeous to tuck in imho. I've had it for a year and no problems so far!

Thank you for letting me know! I'm not as worried now about my MTO.

I agree with you on the handles being gorgeous. Looking on-line, I was very apprehensive of the python handles because I thought they'd be very delicate. I ended up getting the black Rogue satchel 36 and I agree with you that it appears there's a protective coating on the handles. I've carried my bag non-stop and so far it's been fine. The handles make it look very luxe to me. I dry my hands very well before handling my bag and I'm careful not to over-saturate my hands with lotion, hand sanitizer, etc. I think the python handles give the bag visual interest. I got the oxblood Rogue Satchel 36 during the FOS and I don't like it as much since the handles are the same color as the bag and blend in too much IMO. I think I'm just used to the python handles now. fayden, I hope you love your bag when it arrives!

Yes, I'm careful with the hand lotion and sanitizer, too. I bet your Rogue 36 is gorgeous! The regular size works perfectly for me and I carry it constantly because it's one of my favorite bags.
