If you propagate it that would be even cooler. You could pass it on to others and back to her!

I find it difficult to care for her because it’s old and doesn’t behave like ‘regular’ fern (I think) but it was my grandmother‘s plant and by keeping it alive and well I feel like a part of my grandmother is still with me. I really want to multiply the plant but I’m terrified of taking it out of the pot and just physically splitting. What if I permanently damage it, or worse?

Ok, it has high sentimental values. DON'T do anything I told you to. I don't want it to end up dying!!

We went on a shopping spree and are having plants delivered today! We got a few fiddle leaf figs, a bird of paradise, a jade plant/tree and succulents. Can't wait to get them later, but stress of keeping them alive has hit lol

I has a few already, but not big ones that might “hurt” me if I lost. Now I have to train my family not to pour their extra water in them everytime they walk by!!

It is a common fern. A bigger pot and a transfer is not a dangerous operation. As long as you keep it in its current spot.
It might go into a bit of transfer shock but would recover quickly.
If you need back up just propagate prior to the transfer. So you always have OG material.

Not really into variegated in first place but I received this Syngonium (oh boy don't get me started on how easy these plants are!). It has pretty variegations.
