I am placing a SO tomorrow hopefully. For a few months I have been trying to figure out what I want to do. I think I have narrowed it down to Chèvre leather for sure in a B30 or a K28. What colors do you think look best in Chèvre? I was thinking red, raisin, black or dark blue depending on colors available. Would you do contrast stitching on Chèvre? Any suggestions on combinations of colors? How does chèvre hold up to wear? It is such a gorgeous leather. I know you all have so much experience and knowledge. I would really appreciate any and all advice. Thank you so very much in advance!

you are so lucky chloesam! congrats! well, i think chèvre takes brighter colour in a very special way, it gets even more vivid and brighter (to my eyes). if i were to choose chèvre for my leather option i would definitely go with wild colour also with an advantage of its nature of tough durability. my very ancient Bleu Jean purse in chèvre is holding up very well, also all my birkins' interior chèvre lining as well. if i had a choice of colour, i don't think i would adventure into a drastic colour contrast with exterior vs interior. i would definitely take an option of contrast stitching with a subtle contrast variation of ext/int. i would do something like red/pink, blue/green, orange/yellow, black/brown, beige/grey

Thank you so much honhon! I didn't know it takes bright colors well. I love all of your color ideas. I will explore each of them at my appointment. I really appreciate you taking your time to respond. :)

and also i forgot to tell you, lighter colour looks lighter. for example take GT and compare togo vs chèvre, chèvre takes the colour lighter almost looks like argile-ish. have fun!

Love chevre leather is light weight user friendly and can be refurbish back to new

2nd with vivid color....I had seen anemone in chevre and it was sooo dark almost black dark

pink green yellow will be nice :graucho::graucho:

I am no expert, but Chèvre is great and if you get a K28 you can do sellier, it's sooo nice in sellier. It IS shiny which is worth remembering with bright colors.
Last SO it was available in Raisin, Bleu Saphir, Prune, Anemone, Turquoise, Bleu paon, Bleu Azteque, Bleu de Galice, Gris T, Gris Perle, Ardoise, Vert Titien, Etoupe, Rose Confetti, Rose Sakura, Rose thé, Rose lipstick, caramel, Brique, Feu, RC, Cumin, and Menthe. And black. :p
Hope that helps prepare you.
Given that our last orders were so nearly identical I'm going to have fun and suggest you do a K28 sellier, maybe raisin or a grey with a BE lining ;-)
I was going to order chèvre this time but I think I want a Raisin bag too and raisin in chèvre, while stunning, is too bright for me.

Chloesam, What a fun dilemma to have! Before we weigh in more on your color choices, can you share with us what your current bag collection is, in terms of colors, leathers, sizes and styles you currently have? And, what do you reach for most often? What brings you the most pleasure when you use it? Finally, do you have any "holes" in your collection?

There's a pretty old thread about odes to chevre. I've been looking through it lately and still haven't made up my mind on the colours I want for the SO. It's such a fun process, congrats!! Blue aztec is not available for me on this round. Sad!

Hi ladies! What can I say you are all so wonderful to help me. I still have a day or two to switch colors if I change my mind. So let me tell you how it went and hopefully you can weigh in.

As I said I had decided on Chevre for sure. I asked my SM if I could try on a K28 and a B30. These sizes seem to be the most popular right now and I wanted something new. Unfortunately when I held them I looked like I was holding a child's purse. They were so mini on me. I am 5'9" size 8/10. So I decided the smallest I could do was a K32 or a B35. Since my SM promised to find me a certain B in the next few months, I decided to order the K32 Sellier in Chevre.

Now for colors. Quelle, I loved the list you gave me thank you so much! I had pretty much decided to go with rouge H because it is really rich and vibrant in chevre but when he pulled out the paper work it wasn't offered this time! I was so sad! So my next 2 favorite colors that were available in Chevre were Blue Sapphire and Rasin. No Blue Azteque. :( Only Blue Sapphire and Blue Paon were offered.
I decided to go for Blue Sapphire with Rasin stitching and inside lining color. Thank you Ladybug for your pictures of your gorgeous bags! It gave me the idea to use Rasin stitching. My second choice was Rouge Casaque with Sanguine stitching. Only Rouge Casaque and Red Tomate were offered in Chevre. No greens I wanted. Only Taupe and I think Caramel? Were offered for browns. I thought more colors would be offered. Also Black and Feu. There were a few pinks but I wasn't considering those so I can't recall except I know they had Pink Sakura and oh yes, Bouganvillea which I thought looked like a bright red/pink.

So after this very long winded explanation. Do any of you think there is a better option I didn't consider?

Hopingoneday, I already own a BBB 35. A Gold B35 in togo. A Black B35 in epsom with rouge H interior. A K32 Fauve Barenia retourne and a K35 Bambou Ghillies retourne. So basically brown and black bags besides the bambou K. I have a few Evies and Garden Parties and one Jypsiere.
Basically I wanted color this time but not too bright something semi-neutral?

Thank you all so much! Please give me your opinions!
I can't stop second guessing myself!

Hermesdiorduo, I read through that thread as well. I wish there were more current postings! Good luck with your decision!

I know the feeling (about second guessing). It is agony making these decisions, especially when they are for such expensive (and highly allocated) items: you don't want to make a mistake! What I sense from your existing collection is that you are someone who loves the classics. All of the bags you currently own sound so lovely and indeed timeless. It really is too bad that Rouge H isn't currently being offered in chèvre because I do think that would have been an ideal color for your next bag (there's always another time, right?). But honestly, I think that a dark blue (I had been thinking either Saphir, your choice, or Bleu Nuit/bleu Indigo) would absolutely be the way to go. It is a color that will look appropriate at any age, that you will NEVER get sick of, and that is a true color while still being neutral enough to go with many items in any woman's wardrobe. Sapphire is far enough from black to be different. The only other color I find to be a truly versatile neutral is Gris T, but I have heard it is really pale in chèvre which might not be too practical. I have it in Togo myself and love it, but am happy it's not any paler than it is.

I love the idea of the Raisin stitching on the blue. It will look really special while still being subtle enough that it won't limit your use of the bag to particular occasions or times of day. I find that the bags that have really heavy contrast stitching look more casual. This won't. All around a wonderful pick IMHO!

Thank you so so much hopingoneday! You just said exactly what I was thinking when I was picking the stitching. Something a bit different but not too much contrast. I wanted to push the envelope a bit but you are right, I prefer the classics! I probably would have chosen Etain or Bleu Indigo if they had been offered. I love Gris T but I was worried it would be too light in Chèvre as well and while I am careful with my bags, I wear dark jeans most days and didn't want color transfer. So, really I felt my options were limited. It makes me so happy to know you think it is a good choice. Thank you so much!
