Does anyone have this BV Pipe bag? Does it carry well over the shoulder? I saw it in a store when I was touring and didn’t buy it but I’m considering ordering it now that I’m home. It looked beautiful - just wondering if anyone has any first hand experience. Is the leather soft like most BV leather? Do most BV bags come unlined? Thanks in advance for any thoughts!

I’ve only seen it and handled it in the store. I like the smaller size. Weight and function seems good. It’s unlined in the sense the weave is on both sides (think cabat construction). It felt stiff and I think it’s because it’s a substantial weave.

The drawback: It’s just soooo expensive! If I didn’t have the Sardine (which is also really expensive but my rational was the handle and shape was interesting), I’d be tempted.

That said, I have casually checked resale sites. I’ve already seen a black one for almost 50 percent off retail.

I was wondering why it was so expensive. It seems a little out of line, even with other BV bags, given it’s size. Then again, it has been almost two months now and I’m still thinking about it! So perhaps that’s why. Thanks for the information - especially about the stiffness. I saw it in a window but didn’t actually handle it. I saw the porridge colour which is absolutely beautiful, but they have it in a rather stunning deep red as well. Size, shape… it really does look like the perfect bag to me!

I found one site where it was listed for just over €3k, but the site has mixed reviews. I bought a Stella McCartney dress from it once and it seemed ok, but the dress was only 1/4 the price of this BV bag. The last thing I want is to end up with a fake or damaged product given the poor reviews the site has with respect to returns. I wonder how they can offer it for such a discount. It’s tempting though - thanks!

I finally caved in today and just ordered this bag off the BV site in the Barolo colour! I haven’t received it yet but am so excited! A splurge for sure and there will be no more bag purchases on my part for a while, since I picked up a few other bags earlier as well, but I can’t wait to receive it!

Oh how exciting! I can’t wait to see photos. I imagine it’s gorgeous in Barolo. :hbeat:

It’s a gorgeous bag. The leather is harder than I thought it would be (I have two other BV bags and both are softer), but it holds its shape wonderfully. I’m still not sure why the price tag on it is so high - there are no “extras” to this bag, no internal conveniences (I.e. - pockets) or shoulder strap… it’s just a gorgeous, gorgeous bag. What you see is what you get. I guess I fell for it (and after receiving the Barolo Clicker, I have started looking at the Porridge Clicker again) - and assuming there are others like me, I guess the price is justified because we’re willing to pay it in the end. I have no regrets about buying this bag and might even consider the same in Porridge, that’s how gorgeous it is!
