Hi Everyone!
I'm fairly new to BV, I only have a small wallet so far. I love it and really enjoy using it (pic attached). Now I'm looking for a convenient small bag that would help me create versatile looks. I've noticed that my outfits get a little boring and I was hoping that an interesting bag would help make my looks more interesting and modern. I mainly wear minimalistic clothing in neutral colors, mostly sneakers (e.g. Saint Laurent, Gucci, Balenciaga) or simple strapped sandals or military-style boots (like Prada).
Most of my bags are classic (rectangular/ square) shape and black with the exception of colorful Chloe Tess bag (moc snake green/yellow/black/tan colors) and Cabarock small tote in nude. After going back and forth between different brands, I've laid my eyes on the mini pouch in intrecciato leather. I think it will look very different from my usual classic bags (I mostly find myself wearing mini Chanel or Diorama WOC). BUT I'm completely undecided on color, I'm going back and forth between all available colors and cannot figure out what I should get. Please help me decide
Given the horror stories recently posted here on getting fakes from Nordstrom and Neiman I think I will order directly from Bottega and hence am limited to the colors that they have available, see below, I picked a few colors I'm considering, but totally open to your thoughts!! Thanks a lot in advance!

I'd suggest Mallard, or maybe racing green, if you want color. If you're looking for a neural, Almond.

I'm completely undecided whether to go with a bright color or a neutral. I'm not sure what looks better for this bag - color pop or neutral. And it's not in stock in the store near me, so I can't even go and see it person.

When you say your wardrobe is mostly neutral, does it lean towards cool or warm? Mostly black or mostly beige/creme? I think a pop of color is great for this bag, but pick a pop that will coordinate with most of your clothes. Example, I wear a lot of olive and denim, so find teal works great for a bag that “goes” without being too matchy-matchy. I actually find yellow goes great with a lot of tones (sorry don’t know exact name) and can suit year-round.

That's a great point! I think my wardrobe is half black half beige :confused1: , attaching a photo of my active rotation + lots of jeans. When I'm looking at my clothes I feel like any of these pouch colors might work, but I'd greatly appreciate your opinion. Thanks!!

Caramel or beige would be the most versatile in my opinion. Bright colors are gorgeous but they’re harder to
incorporate in an outfit. Let us know what you decide:).

My experience with the ‘pop of color’ idea is that I feel like it can stick out too much. And I never use the bag.

I know it will read as strange, but if I think of it as a color I love, then I do wear it.
A lot actually!

So don’t think of it is as ‘I should get a pop of color’. Rather, go into the decision with ‘I love this color’.

I can’t agree more - and knowing @grietje all these years and how we’ve both learned about those ‘pop’ of colors (they never did do what we thought they would, and the bags weren’t worn) - this is the best learned advice you can get!

I went on the BV website to look at all their options. Bordeaux and Raintree imho would look good with lots of your wardrobe but I tend to think of those as only fall/winter colors. Racing green and Mallard are beautiful but I still think Buttercup is the ideal option.

True, it wouldn’t go with EVERYTHING but you still have your black bags for days when Buttercup wouldn’t look right. But then I am bias because I have a bag this same shade (not BV) and love how it works. Think of the pop with jeans and a white button-up or gray tee. There is a reason Levi’s classic denim used yellow top stitching!

All that said, you must love it too. No point if it doesn’t make your heart flutter and you’re having to “force” it.

Just another thought that may help you decide….do you have a favorite pair of shoes you wear more than others? What color are they, or do they have an accent color to coordinate with? For example, if your favorite sneakers have a bright green element, then maybe Racing Green would tie the whole look together.

But if at the end of the day all these colors just seem like too much, maybe you are just a truly neutral lover at heart and you would enjoy your pouch most in a neutral. Caramel is GORGEOUS and classic and would be stunning too!

Keep us posted!

Thanks so much everyone for sharing!! I was thinking all day about what you all said and it was extremely helpful!! :ty:
I think that I'm in the same boat as @grietje and @indiaink in terms of ending up not using those pop of color purchases. I almost never reach for my only colorful Chloe bag which I specifically purchased to have a colorful bag.
So excluding really bright colors, I really like caramel, I almost went for it, but then realized that it's quite similar color to LV monogram which I have 2 of. I also very much like the darker colors that @foxgal mentioned, but agree that these are more fall/ winter.
With that I was able to narrow down my options to buttercup, ice cream and the lighter almond (available for pre-order now). That'll be a tough choice, they all look so pretty...
Buttercup is quite bright, so I'm a little scared that I'll end up not using it. On the other hand the other two are so pale that they might get lost with my outfits :thinking:

I wanted to say - if caramel is your 'color', why not get the Mini in that shade? The bag itself is so different from an LV monogram, you wouldn't be duplicating anything noticeable. :flowers:
