So everyone here knows Daniel Lee is the current ruler of the handbag game. I’m usually not drawn to trend bags, but I really have to admit I can’t get the styles of the Mini Jodie and the Double Knot out of my head. They look so soft and squishy, are a nice mini size, and love the hand/crook-of-elbow carry look. Fortunately, thanks to Lee’s success, there are many more affordable options from contemporary designers...some I actually even like better than BV’s!

My questions for anyone who has any experience with these styles of bags:
1) Do you worry about dirt or wear on the hand carry portion of the upper loop (handle)? Especially on lighter colors?
2) How easy or difficult are they to access the contents, with so little room between the handle and the bag opening?
3) How long do you think these styles will last? I fear they’re going to date within a year.

Any input or suggestions of other makes appreciated! Some I like (from top): By Far Cush, Danse Lente Lola, Osoi Toni

I have the BV mini jodie, but it's relatively new so I looked at preloved bags on the market of this style to see how the handles look.
1. I do worry about the handle, and I have seen that the weaving gets frayed (not sure if that's the right word for it), so I do try to take good care of my bag, especially the handle. Mine is in the almond color, and I do worry about color transfer too, but I haven't put any leather protectant on it yet. Anyways, the alternatives you posted don't have weaved leather on the handles, so they won't get frayed, but I do think that they'll get worn somehow over time.
2. It's a little bit difficult to access the contents. When I'm holding my bag and trying to get something out, I have to use two hands -- one to hold the handle aside and one to access the contents. I sometimes have to put my leg up so I can have a surface for my bag while I'm trying to get my stuff, but not always.
3. I think it might look dated in a few years, but I like the style, so I'll still carry it! I think it'll look dated because it's not really a "classic" shape. But I can still imagine myself carrying it for the rest of my life.
