Hey gals!

Just wanted to know what the difference btw these 2 leathers (my mom was wondering)..because i noticed some bv products are made from both...is one leather better than the other??

Thanks so much!!:smile1:

Hi, I just purchased my first goatskin BV and I love it! It is a textured leather and definitely not as soft as lambskin (this is not a bad thing -- just the nature of the leather). It also is not as "slouchy." I don't think that one is better than the other -- they are just very different. My goatskin is new so I can't compare durability of the lampskin v goatskin....others may be able to address that. For the moment I actually prefer the goatskin -- it just seems a bit more interesting/special to me.

Ladies on the same note, my ottone sloane and matita belly, I believe they are both goatskin right. They definitely feel different (thicker) than my romas. But my ottone sloane does slouch,

shih_tzu_lover: yeah now that you mentioned it, the goatskin is more thicker..and not as soft as lambskin..i guess it depends on personal preference.?

I think i prefer lambskin more...=|..i just have a thing for softer leathers..but whatever the case ill love both leathers no matter what!

Goatskin is more durable and heavier than Lambskin. It is also stiffer and shinier. Lambskin will always have the softest hand of all the leathers, but because it is soft it is also prone to damage. Goatskin is stronger. Lambskin is softer. It just all depends on what you want in each particular bag. They are all the best.

My Montaigne is Lambskin and my large Veneta is goatskin. I must admit that I am more mindful when I am carrying my Montaigne than when I am carrying my Veneta.

I think the color plays a part too. Just my 2cents

I saw a couple of Campanas in NYC that were calfskin. Only the handles were woven and the brown was gorgeous. I thought the black was a tad plain, but the whiskey color of the brown was wonderful.

If you include cows of all ages, my platino ossidato Cabat is calfskin. A few other Cabats are calfskin as well. There are the vachette bags, too. There might be others that I'm not recalling right now....

I just love this expression, blueiris, makes me smile.:D

krouet, that's catalano campana, yes? It's a beauty.
