Please help me decide what to do here!

I’ve found an vintage LV on the pre-loved marked that seems to be the PERFECT work horse for me, which I’ve been in search of from LV without any luck for several years now!
It’s an older model that hasn’t been produced for several years, and I never even heard of it until now, even though I will consider myself as quite a hardcore LVoer, so it’s a quite rare model (I won’t say which it is, as I’m afraid someone will search it up and snatch it):-s
BUT after a year of very many purchases I won’t allow myself to buy it until I’ve sold something, and I’ve already listed my current work bag from Prada (it’s only been listed for 2 days, but I’m impatient and afraid that my dream work horse will be sold to someone else in the mean time)..
So, I’ve also been contemplating to list my Vivienne disco ball bag charm, as I’m quite certain that will be sold much faster and will give me about the same amount as the Prada bag. But I can’t seem to find it on LV’s website anymore, so I’m afraid that I won’t be able to buy it again later when the Prada bag is sold. And it’s a bag charm I really really love and use often, so I’m equally afraid to regret sell this bag charm, as I’m afraid of my dream work bag to be sold to someone else... :hrmm:

I won’t sell any of my other bags, that’s for sure, so the dilemma here is whether I should be brave and patient to wait and see if the Prada bag will sell, or if I should list my bag charm immediately to secure my perfect work bag? What would you do??:confused1:

TIA

I would buy the bag you like and wait for the other bag to sell. Make an exception to your rule if you have the funds available to do so.
I actually do have the funds on a savings account, but I just can’t allow myself to buy it until something else is gone, as I’ve been quite hard on the savings account for several months now  But thanks for answering anyway, I really appreciate it!:hbeat:

I would list the bag charm, its just a charm. It doesnt do the same that a bag does, you can actually use the bag if you have been looking for it for ages. When those vintage ones slip away they can be impossible to find.
I totally agree with you that it’s just a bag charm.. But I truly love it so much, even hubby said «I advise you to not sell it as I know how much you love your little Viv’». On the other hand, I have spent much on other bags, shawls etc for several months now without hesitation, and my work bag is without a doubt the bag I use most as it’s being used daily! So it seems kinda stupid of me to suddenly pull the breaks here, as I’ve been impulse buying other stuff that’s regularly rotated  I just feel like I’m constantly escaping ban-island, and it will never be a good opportunity to stop doing so, so I really should hold back until selling something this time, I just can’t decide.. Gah, this is sooo hard, haha!

Thank you so much for answering, all answers make me think and make different reflections that I need to take the right decision:hbeat:

I would keep the bag charm, because you love it.
And I would buy the bag you are lusting for, because first you seem to have researched it, that it will work for you, it is an older rare model, which is not so easy to come by as you described, so it seems to be worth it to make an exception.
Keep the Prada listed, it will eventually be bought.

It would be a pity if your dream work bag is gone if you wait for the sell, especially when it is an older model which is not produced anymore and is rarely sold. I have been hunting some older models back in the time, too and I know how difficult it might be to find the correct model, in a good shape and for a reasonable price. So these are all points which would make it worthwhile to purchase it even if you haven't sold your Prada yet and IF you think it will work for you.

It sounds like you really love the charm. I wouldn't sell. If you don't want to buy the bag right now before your Prada sells, then wait it out. It may still be there and if not, another may come along. If it's meant to be, it'll be!
Thanks a lot for your input! Your last sentence «if it’s meant to be, it’ll be» is what I’ve been trying to tell myself so far as well:flowers: I’m quite sure the bag is meant to be, so my fingers are still crossed that I won’t miss out on it, haha!

Thank you so so much for sharing your experience and thoughts on this, it’s much appreciated! I will definitely consider to make this my VERY final exception before locking the gates on ban-island, even though it’ll be a third option to my original dilemma (which kinda makes it even harder to decide) lol!:giggle:

In my experience, every time I try to talk myself out of something, I can't get it out of my head if I really, really want it. If I don't grab it, it's gone! You sound like you did the research and really want it. I say pull the trigger before you can't find it again!
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this:hbeat: I really have a lot of thinking to do now, but I’ll try to decide what to do as quickly as I can. It’s definitely helpful to get all of your opinions on this, even though they’re quite different from eachother:yes:

what happened? I need to know
Aww, thanks for caring! :hbeat:
Haven’t done anything else than keeping the Prada listed yet, really try to be a «good girl» and stay on ban-island.. :P And I’ve come to the conclusion that I will regret if I sell the bag charm, so I won’t do that.
But I think I’m ending up with sort of a compromise, which is just keeping the Prada listed, and after TWO weeks I’ll buy the dream work bag when I get my next pay check no matter if the Prada has sold yet or not. As long as the work bag is still available at that point I think it’s meant to be, and I consider myself to have been patient and enough of a «good girl» to then make the purchase with no feeling of guilt :giggle:
