Ten years ago I saw a marvellous unisex silver ring with a huge smokey quartz that I really loved at a local jeweler, during a visit to Nice. I had been looking for a ring like that for quite some time, but could not find it anywhere and now it was there, but not in my preferred size and it could not be resized due to its design... It was too large for my ring finger, on which I wanted such a ring, but I bought it anyway, because I was so smitten with it and wore it on my index finger instead. A few years ago I lost a lot of weight, so it did not fit any of my fingers anymore, so I sold it.

To make a long story, and question, short: I am curious if you would buy, e.g., a HG piece (rings, bracelets, etc.), if it did not come in your preferred size and it was impossible to get your preferred size? Or have you ever done that? Regale me with your stories, I am very curious :D!

I did that this December with a diamond bracelet and I can't make it work and now I'll have to pay so much mlre to get it custom made to the smaller size I need :/ not happy about this lol

I can totally relate to that. Will you have it resized?

Buying outside my preferred size range or expensive resizing would only be worth it in my opinion if the piece has (near) HG properties. When I bought the ring mentioned in my earlier post I was way younger with far less experience.

I woudnt have done that unless it was a holy grail piece- but when I wore it and moved my wrist back and forth it didn't go over my bangle. I guess I was careful without realizing it so I honestly made a mistake and didn't have the intent to buy something bigger than I realize. I def have to get it reset soon, so frustrated at myself for doing that

I wouldn't because it would bother me to wear it loose or I wouldn't end up wearing the item at all. You wouldn't want to lose it. For example, with bracelets I have small wrists so I will either custom order and wait a few weeks for the right size to come in or if it doesn't come in another size, I will have the standard model sized to fit me.
