I’ve been looking for gold paperclip-type necklaces and bracelets and found some on Gilt that look promising, but seem to recall reading about some negative experiences from other Tpfers buying high end items from Gilt. Does anyone have experience buying 14k jewelry from Gilt? The brand is listed as “Italian Gold”.

Here’s an example of what I’m considering:

The stock photos look highly stylized and I’m wondering what these pieces look like in person. I saw a few Italian gold pieces at Costco recently that looked nice and they have similar weights to the Gilt ones. TIA for any input!

I'd review their return policy and make sure you are comfortable with it prior to purchasing (goes for any online purchase). Too many things look great online and not so great in hand. I'm sure it's real gold, but sometimes things just feel or look cheaper in person than they appear in photos. If you saw something similar at Costco I'd probably just buy there as you can try it on prior to purchase and easily return if you change your mind. I would not buy online unless they offer my money back (not website credit) and free return/prepaid shipping label.
