I’ve been losing sleep over this.

I found a Birkin in the exact specs I want and within the price range I can afford. However it’s not in mint condition. The corners had been touched up by leather specialists but what bothers me most is the side edges. There’s a cut/crack and I don’t know if it’s too obvious. I intend to carry this bag partially opened (flap inside, straps opened).

Would this defect be too obvious?

If I do intend to rehouse this in future, would it affect the price of the bag?

Thanks in advance and I look forward to hearing your opinions.

If that issue is a problem for you, can you seriously imagine that it wouldn't be a problem for someone else?
Bagidiotic is obviously 100% right.

Out of curiosity, just what is the price being asked for this bag that is so low that you would even consider it?
Might it be as little as a few hundreds?

That chunk missing, the cracks, the missing stitching at the base, hmmmm. I’m not an expert, but it looks to me like this bag got a superficial touch up and it’s in much worse condition than it looks. Like a car that got a fresh coat of paint, but it has a lot more mileage than it shows. I wouldn’t touch it with a 10 foot pole, sorry.

I bought a vintage bag, gave to Hermes repair, got answer "can't be refinished since it's already been refinished". I didn't understand this answer 1 year. Recently I came to conclusions, it mean they won't touch it since 3rd party did sth with it. So I think you can't give to Hermes repair in the future for any repair.
My dream bag is Constance. Resell market about 8000. I bought vintage in horrible condition for 3000, but never enjoyed it, because condition is horrible. I learned my lesson , save ur money and don't buy bad condition only because it's cheap.. evefytime u look at the bag it will make you feel like sth need to do with it ...

If anything, you’re better off buying an untouched beat up one than one than has retouched by a ‘professional’. At least the untouched one can be restored properly by Hermes; they won’t touch the other one.
