Hello TPFers!

I hope to one day get my hands on a Birkin... I've recently ordered scarves from NM to acquaint myself with the brand and I am considering the Evelyne and a SilkyPop bag. These are available for purchase on the Hermes website but I'm wondering, is it better (for my future Birkin goal) for me to actually head to my local Hermes store to build a relationship with an SA by purchasing items directly from them?

Also, if I am to go to the store, are they able to order items available online but not currently at the store?

TIA

Hi ;-)

lucky you if you have a H Store around. The next H store I can reach is more than 3 hours to drive :-(

I ordered some scarfs and smaller things online several times - and they call you back, to confirm the order. They called me back to confirm dispatch of my parcel and ethering was well packed - like a gift. I enjoyed it.

But what is really wonderful is entering a store with all the beautiful things displayed. And take your time and look around and try on and so. I always feel like Alice in Wonderland.

Especially if you want to buy a bag, and especially if it is you first one - go to a store. Try it on, feel it, ask for other colours and look around. They will do everything to help you

Thanks Lublusu. I have a small H store within 1 hour from me and used to live by a big one--but sadly never entered it because I thought I could not afford a thing. Now I sort of can, especially since I have convinced myself that H items are wardrobe investments.

Btw, I plan on checking out the H-sale in Paris to pick up some scarves, etc. :)

buy from the store and use it as an opportunity to meet an SA and learn more about H

ITA. I have "itchy fingers" and love shopping online. But there is something about going to the actual Hermes store in person and playing with all the goodies in real life. The added plus is that speaking with a salesperson (provided that they are knowledgeable) is one of the best ways to learn more about the brand. (Perusing tpf for hours on end being THE best way :D). And as the relationship develops, you never know what your SA will offer you!

I'm going to wait until Paris. I figure any new goodies won't be packed for my trip so I'm just going to hope to make friends with an SA in Paris after some continuous summer shopping. Sure I'll be broke by the end but maybe I'll be allowed to make a SO that will be charged later  A girl can dream.

In store it is! I was just getting anxious :)
After all I'm going to wait to shop in Paris. I've heard that the H store near me hardly carries Birkins and has a strong following already :(

I'm hoping I meet an SA in Paris who takes me under her wing and fills my brain with H knowledge and sells me beautiful things during my 3 month stay. I hope the relationship continues with a Birken offer. :) ahhhh......
