and well... genuine leather and synthetic materials burn differently, and I too have seen street hawkers holding a lighter to their product, to try convince you of its quality. real leather won't go "poof" or spread flames like synthetics. it'll just take a bit more effort to get genuine leather to catch on fire.
saying real Chanel won't burn? that is just stupidity unless Chanel has some awesome top secret fire-proofing treatment....
