Hey guys,

I'm interested in finally treating myself to a trench! Most likely pre-loved though, which means I can't try it on & I don't have an opportunity to try them on in store.

I'm looking at the Kensington Heritage Trench, medium length. How do you guys find the Kensington to fit? I know it's supposed to be roomier, so would you say it runs small or true to size. I usually take a medium coat, US 6 dress size. I'm 5'8. Would a UK 8 be too snug?

Thanks!

I have the same coat and went up one size from my normal dress size eg) I’m a US 6 but bought the US8 and it fits perfectly
Thank you so much!

I actually made the trek to a Nordstrom to try the coats on and I actually found the Kensington true to size as a 6! I'm a true six in general. I think the shoulders might be tight for layering with something thick but the arms were weirdly baggy on the 8. Just some advice for anyone else who might be searching!

The Kensington fits a little big, I went a size down comfortably (but I like coats more snug.) I think the UK size 8 will be a good fit for you if you plan to layer and like a looser fit. UK size 6 is what I got as a US dress size 6 and 5’9”.

You can always try them on in store and find the same or similar fit pre loved! In general though I think Burberry runs big.

Most of their trenchcoats really come quite big

I’m 5’3”, 125 lbs and purchased the Kensington in a US 6. I wear XS tops and a size 2 jean. The arms are a bit long, but the coat fits beautifully elsewhere. Make sure it’s big enough to wear a sweater underneath. I’m a bit busty, so I had to size up to accommodate. Good luck!
