Burberry or Gucci? Need help choosing the better canvas bag.

Hello fellow tPFers!

Sales abound my city and I'm looking for a bag that's light for days when I need to give my back a break from my heavy leather ones.

These 2 canvas bags are on sale. I'm torn between the two styles. Hope you can help me decide which would be the better buy.

First is the Burberry canvas bag. Don't know exactly what it's called. It has a jute cotton body, with leather handles and strap, which is adjustable. There's also a detachable pouch that comes with it. The bag is deep enough to keep my stuff safe inside. It's not lined. Too bad I forgot to take a photo of me trying it on in the store. Found this pic thru Google.



The next one is a Gucci canvas tote in animal print. Available in yellow and red. Lined in canvas as well and has an interior pocket.



Which one do you think would be the better purchase?

I don't like the Burberry at all! It makes me think of a table cloth....On the other hand, it's a North South tote, which means it won't be easy to get to your things.
The Gucci is lovely, well proportioned ![emoji173]️

I love Gucci and don't like Burberry so I'm biased. But the Gucci can hold more and looks higher quality. The Burberry looks thin.

I prefer the Gucci too, for the reasons above but also because it's not a typical designer print, it's quite unique take on 'animal'.

I like plaid but so really don't like the Burberry. It looks cheap like something from a discount store. I much prefer the Gucci in either color.

After reading your comments, that Gucci seems to be the better choice. I don't have a printed bag yet, so this would be like my "fun" bag. I went through my clothes today and it seems I can match the animal print to a lot of my solid neutrals. The only thing holding me back is that it has no zip. To solve that, I'm thinking of using the dustbag it comes with as a "liner" to keep my things secure.

Agree with you, @Mariapia on the Gucci being well proportioned. There was a bigger one in store the other day. When I visited the store again yesterday, they just brought out these smaller sized ones.

Good eye, @mkr! The Burberry is thin. No lining at all but it's actually well made when I inspected it.

The Gucci ones is well made too.
