Bulgari special order / made to order handbag programme - any info?

Any of you ever had any luck requesting a special order from Bulgari? I was looking at the double Serpenti viper ring but would love it in yellow gold rather than rose. Thanks!

Edit: haha, just found it on the US site. Question still stands though, cos ideally I’d like it with emeralds rather than diamonds. I know, really pushing my luck now. 😆

The last time I was in the Bulgari store, I was informed by an SA that they have an SO/MTO programme for handbags where you can customise multiple details in the bag (I was under the impression its only for exotics, though). They had multiple colours, snakeheads etc. You could even get real gold and diamond findings if you wanted (for an astronomical price, of course).

Has anyone ordered an SO/MTO bag, and could you share more insight into the process, how you feel about your bag etc?

I haven’t actually done an SO through Bvlgari but was excited to be offered one! My local boutique was recently renovated and is now a flagship so they can do SOs. The leathers, chains, snakeheads, eyes, chains, engraved plaques etc were all stored in little drawers in a countertop trunk, fun to look through. My SA told me about how long it takes and the approx price premium (over the standard price of whatever bag model you order) but this info went in one ear and out the other because I wasn’t in the market to order at that time. I got the sense that while the process is similar to say H in that you can choose exactly what you want and it’s made to order, somehow it’s not as fancy. But probably someone here who has actually done an SO at Bvlgari can speak from actual experience! If you do end up doing it, would love to hear how it goes (and of course see the final product)!

I’m not really an H person so I can’t speak to that experience but I had dabbled in MTO/SO at LV; I found the Bulgari level of customisations offered much higher, but the price premium is also higher. I haven’t ordered yet at Bulgari but it is definitely on my list! Will update if I end up doing it, but I don’t plan on it for at least 1-2 years. Been on a crazy buying spree the last few years so it’s time to cool off a little 😅
