Hi all!

Hubby just brought me home a beautiful Bulgari bag from his business trip to Paris. While I like, the bag, I don't LOVE it. He's okay with me returning it, but I called the U.S. CS line and the Paris store, and they won't accept returns. Any advice for me? TIA!

I should probably also say that I appreciate hubby's gesture! BUT...if I'm going to have such an expensive bag, I really want to love it, not just like it. Hope I'm not coming off as ungrateful or anything.

Thanks so much for your reply! I was told by CS in the U.S.A. that I can only exchange or return at the original store, as they don't accept foreign returns/exchanges. I was told by the store in Paris I'm welcome to come over there and exchange, but I cannot return. Stuck. Oy. Thanks for the suggestion, though!

I'll have to take a pic, because the bag style is on the website, but not my particular bag. :)

I feel sorry for you and your husband. Here he tries to do something thoughtful and it turns out it's not your taste! Is there another bag on the website you really like? If not, I would suggest going into NY, I don't know where you live, but if it is convenient, to go to their flagship store and perhaps you can find a beautiful piece of statement jewelry. Of course the jewelry will end up costing you more but....

Thanks bgaholic! I know, it's a crappy situation. Luckily I have a very understanding husband, who isn't p*ssed that I want to return/exchange it. I live in Ohio, with no plans to visit NY anytime soon. Le sigh. I don't want this beautiful bag to sit in my house, BUT I also don't want to carry it, as it's just not "me." Oy.

I find it kind of a bad business practice that they won't take a return at another store under special circumstances, but that's beside the point...Sorry you're stuck with it. Maybe ebay or consign it? If it's worth the time and effort for you perhaps there's someone higher up you could send a letter to or speak with.

I'm not too sure but I think Bulgari does not make many style bags and that is what the problem is. Perhaps the OP looked on the website and they are all different variations of that bag that she has and she just doesn't like the style. So unfortunate! At the prices of these bags today, there really should be a better solution!!

Thanks everyone! I'm going to call USA CS again tomorrow morning and plead my case. Song - Paris said they would exchange it IN PERSON. I'd have to pay as much as the bag is worth to fly over and do that! Boo. I guess if CS shoots me down again, eBay may be the only way to go. Thanks again for all your suggestions and support! Poor hubby feels so bad that I don't like it. He's a gem!

My suggestion is to dissect the ebay forum here. If you have no experience, I would suggest going to a consignment store and selling it. After reading many of the posts on the ebay forum, I, personally am phobic now! Best of luck to you and so sorry it didn't work out.

It seems to me, the more expensive the handbag, the harder the chance of returning it! :nuts:
