Hello everyone

I would love to get your opinions on how to build on my VCA collection.

I have been buying pieces over a number of years and I am very happy with all of them. However, I feel like I’m missing an ‘everyday’ YG set that I can just grab and put on to run errands. Vintage Alhambra pendant seems the obvious solution but I just sold my YG/Onyx one, so I don’t want to replace it without considering other options.

I’m looking for YG necklace/earrings that would work with the following pieces I have:

YG MOP Vintage 5-motif bracelet, ring, earrings
YG MOP Magic pendant
YG BA Vintage 5-motif bracelet
YG Signature bracelet
YG Perlee 3-row ring

I also have WG Vintage Chalcedony pendant and 5-motif.

I returned the YG 10-motif MOP as I prefer pendants. I’d love the 20-motif but need something simpler at the moment. I thought the YG Frivole was either too tiny or too large on me, but I liked the pave small version (although it’s expensive for what it is).

Any other ideas, please?

Hi! I'll add my two cents...

First, I think you already have your "everyday" set which is the YG MOP. Your YG MOP pieces are beautiful and great for everyday wear. YG MOP is gorgeous and makes your skin glow. It's the best Alhambra metal & stone combo in my opinion!

Based on your comments about pendants, I assume you feel you can't wear your YG MOP Magic pendant everyday.

If you want a smaller pendant to wear everyday, for me, I would complete your YG MOP set and get a VA YG MOP pendant.
The VA YG MOP pendant would be absolutely beautiful with your YG VA MOP earrings, and you can wear that set daily.
However, if you do currently wear your Magic MOP pendant with your VA MOP earrings and don't feel it's too "VCA logo-y", then skip this VA YG MOP suggestion.

Then...
If you want to buy more Alhambra, I would get a WG pave pendant as others have said. You can also get matching VA pave earrings as well. You can wear this set casual or dressy. I also think diamonds sparkle the best with WG metal.

That said, what would I really do?
I personally think you have enough Alhambra pieces.
For me, I would go outside the Alhambra collection and expand to add other VCA collections. I like versatility in a jewelry collection, and quite frankly, once a person wears the "quatrefoil four leaf clover" design, the theme & visual is always the same, regardless of stone. For me, I want more diversity than only VCA Alhambra four-leaf clover pieces.

VCA is much more than Alhambra. Alhambra is popular due to the price point, but VCA is well-known for their artistic floral designs.
Since you are considering pave...
I would get a WG Frivole pave set. The Frivole flower design is pure art, with its 3D heart-shaped design that form the petals and diamonds as the stamen. No other vendor has truly been able to copy this design. When worn, the 3D pave just sparkles. Since you like pendants and earrings, I would get the WG pave pendant and matchings. That can certainly be an everyday set or a dressy set.

It would also be something very different than four leaf clovers, so it would be a good addition to your jewelry colletion.
Of course, if you only want to wear Alhambra, then I vote a WG pave set.

Just my two cents. Hope that helps in your decision. Good luck!

It depends on how you perceive everyday pieces. Do you just want something carefree, relative lightweight so you can keep on 24/7 and can take shower with? If so, I'd suggest hammered YG pendant or earrings, both will go beautifully with your MOP pieces. I understand your sentiment about the pave pieces and the price point is high for the ctw you're getting, but the beauty in VCA diamonds is that they sparkle way more than other brands despite the low ctw. I agree with @BigAkoya about expanding to the frivole collection especially if you want to opt for pave. The price point is about the same as the alhambra pave pieces but the design and diamonds complement each other exceptionally well that I often feel that the pave alhambra pieces look a bit flat in comparison. I think the alhambra design showcase natural gemstones much better. Also I'm just not a big fan of the alhambra pave pieces unless it's in WG because when set in YG or RG the diamonds look a bit too sparse imo because of the clover shape, which limit how they distribute the stones, you don't see the sparseness as much in WG.

You received really great input from our forum members here. I would just like to add that to me it seems like you really love the 20-motif YG WMOP. You already have everyday pieces as @BigAkoya pointed out. Why not just wait a little bit more and then go all out with the 20-motif when you feel ready for it?

My vote would be for either the 20-motif or the pave small Frivole in YG (if you really want to add another pendant).

Like you, I love pendants and wear them a lot, especially during summer BUT in building a capsule collection for ‘all seasons’, I realized I didn’t want to have multiples of the same designs in same sizes. So now, even though Alhambra is probably the predominant design in my collection, my necklaces are all different sizes - vintage, magic, 10-motif, 16-motif. Hoping to add a 20-motif next year to round off my necklace collection. One thing I have discovered is if you have too many repeats of anything, you won’t do justice to any single one of them. Of course, for me Hermes bags are an exception

Hello i read here so many good advices already - bit still giving mine ☺️
I just tried the YG 10 motif Guilloché and fell in love with so much sparkle. There is the one motif also if you prefer pendant. Or earrings ? Or the hammered gold ; they are just easy to take care (not as easy with the guilloche ring or bracelet…)
Or the Socrate collection ? I love the floral design

Thank you for these great ideas. I’ll definitely investigate Socrate too.

Thank you. You make some excellent points. I should wait, you are right, and not compromise on my next piece.
