Hello, I’m still in the market for a bracelet. Right now I have the Reg JUC, Serpenti, and 5 motif. Looking for a bracelet that is different and I’ve been eyeing on Buccellati for a while now. Went to the boutique to try some pieces and unfortunately they didn’t have a YG version of the macri bangle that I can try. However, I did not expect to really like the WG bangle. The SA told me that the WG one that I tried is 5mm and the one RG is 3mm but when I checked the website it seems like the sizes are actually the 8.5mm for the WG and 5mm for the RG. I will have to clarify with her tomorrow. I also tried other pieces from the Opera collection.

I’m not looking to stack in particular so i don’t mind if my next piece won’t stack well with the pieces that I already have. I can just wear it on its own. Which one do you think looks good? For those who have the macri bangle, mind sharing the pros and cons? Thank you so much!

The white gold piece really pops and works well with your skin tone. I really like the open opera bangle too. I think both have more presence than the first rose gold bangle.
I mainly wear YG but if I go for the WG macri bangle then I can start building my WG set just to get a different feel from time to time. Yea RG never looks good for my skin tone except the RG from Tiffany because it has less copper.

I believe the Macri bangle cannot be polished? Not sure if it's a good idea to stack with other gold bangles since small dents may form over time. It's a more delicate piece. I am aware that you said you don't need to stack, but just something to keep in mind if you feel like you want to stack.
Also, it's best to have it professionally cleaned at the boutique so that the detailed work is maintained.

I think the Macri line is beautiful but I know my lifestyle wouldn't maintain the craftsmanship and with all the etches and high surface area, it would probably get dirty with bits of grime and dirt stuck inside because I'm not good at maintaining my pieces regularly.

The white gold looks beautiful on you! Does the etching stay as it is over time or does it eventually smooth out and become shiny? The reason I ask is because I recall a thread on brushed gold rings that eventually lost that brushed finish and turned smooth. ( I think it might have been Leen Hyne?)

@A bottle of Red - maybe you are thinking of my Leen Heyne ring? It did get smoother over time, but it's silver so much softer than gold and was just a brushed finish.

Looks like these Buccellati bangles are very heavily etched, or maybe even cast with all the tiny grooves...I bet these would keep their finish very well. Also with the raised diamonds, there would probably be less coming into contact with the bangle itself. @mimingkat I personally think the gold bangle looks fabulous...I understand you said it's RG but in this pic it looks very yellow and the contrast with the diamonds set in white is stunning! Go for it!

Yes it must have been your ring! Glad to know this Bucellati won't have the same issue

Its difficult to capture the beauty of this bracelet. When i was trying them on, the WG felt a little bit edgy. I might go for the WG 5mm or 3mm.

As for your question regarding the etching, I’m not sure I forgot to ask that part. Will let know when I clarify with the SA.

Yes its RG. It was more pinkish and was blending with my skin. Going to mikimoto today and will try to stop by Buccellati to try them on. This will be a different location so hopefully they have YG I can try on.

My only concern with the Marci bangle is the underside. It looks like it will create some indentation if it sits higher up the arm. See the hallow area underneath?

The brush finish is a nice touch! Not a fan of the diamonds sticking out, but the diamonds do flash brighter and look bigger in pictures compared to Cartier’s love bangles with diamonds. It is pretty and unique / not trendy.

I found these pics on a reseller’s website.

I think the thin Marci you tried looks good with the rest of your bracelets and Cartier watch. It has a delicate look to it and the diamonds stand out more than in WG.
