Brief v. City v. Step?! for my MOM

I've seen some pictures on this forum of your gorgeous Brief bags... but I'm not personally familiar with that style. I think I've seen it once in person. Is this a style with no zip on top just snap closure? very room interior?!

I can't seem to find the details or dimension info of Brief on this forum.

I'm thinking maybe a Brief would be good for my mom, too. She likes the city and I'm worried step (the structure bottom) wouldn't withstand her "abuse"...

I think it depends on how much she is carrying normally? The brief holds more (vertically anyway).
