I bought a 5-motif bracelet almost a year ago and only wore it once on the day I bought it. I thought the reason I never wore it was because it was too long and dangly so I took it into the boutique for resizing. I noticed today that on the resizing receipt they listed the condition of the bracelet as “well enjoyed”. Should I to be concerned about this or is this just the convention they use for not purchased today?

That's interesting..I've never looked or got a receipt that I remember when resizing lol... You should ask your sa what it means I'm also super curious 🤨
I don’t know if it would be called a receipt, it’s the piece of paper they give you for pickup. It tells you what length you are adjusting it to. They had me sign it before I left the boutique and I didn’t think to look at the section that said additional notes until I got home. I don’t even have the contact info of the sa that day, she was super nice though.

I assume they took a look at the purchase date and thought if it’s been almost a year, so I must’ve worn it quite a bit?

@hhh10 - You made me look at my receipts! I checked and I don't see any notation on the condition of the bracelet before it is sent for resizing. Typically, my adjustment request to remove links are done on the same day as my purchase date.

Thanks for looking! I think I would feel better if they said slight signs of wear or even normal signs of wear. Well enjoyed just sounds like it’s not in very good condition. Especially considering it’s been just sitting in the box the whole year.

Is this Neiman Marcus? In the past they have filled out a little handwritten form for resizing or any other workshop need, and it doesn’t mean anything. Sometimes they even put the wrong serial number or item name. You should get something official from the VCA workshop once it is received, and it will not have any remarks about condition unless there’s a serious problem that they need to address.

No, it was a standalone vca boutique in a mall

Sometimes boutiques in malls follow mall policies/procedures + brand policies/procedures, or some combination. I have found this to be the case for jewelry as well as RTW and handbags, so this is my assumption of why you received this slip.

I believe the slip is standard practice, it is just the condition listed I’m slightly worried about. For example, if it comes back with scratches they can say it was already there before based on the initial assessment.

I'm going to try to be not worried about it and just trust that vca will not damage it in the resizing process. If that is the case, then whatever they wrote won’t matter at all.

Just sharing my experience, maybe others will chime in.

I've dropped off my pieces at 3 separate boutiques in the past for resizing, never seen any condition remarks on any slip, so I'm not sure if that's standard practice.

You're best to just ask your SA or the SM on what 'well enjoyed' means and what it's used for, otherwise you'll just continue to stress yourself out over semantics. I doubt VCA is using that remarks to avoid responsibility on any small or major damages caused by the workshop, since we can't bring it anywhere else for service anyway, it'll always come back to them if it needs any forms of repair or adjustments. If you're hyper paranoid, next time just take a bunch of photos and HDR videos before you drop off your pieces for service for a peace of mind.

Okay, thanks for the advice.

I have my black onyx and they resized for me for no cost. They recommended that better to resized it due to possible come off. She never asked my receipt though. She called me when my bracelet is done including left over link.
