Is there not some issues about boxcalf leather around the tannery process of using chromium salts these days? That was my understanding, for some reason . . . (?) Perhaps someone who is in the know, about those boxcalf equestrian boots would comment ? (DQ?)
(BTW I learned that boxcalf is named so, after Joseph Box - a London Shoemaker of long ago.)
I thought all the "boxcalf" hides were farmed in France, at farms owned by Hermes?surely that will hold for most of the leathers - i wonder what proportion are sourced from European cattle?
