Hi ladies, I'm a Coach gal that decided to broaden her herizons and bought a MAB today. I know NOTHING about RM but i always love a MAB when I see one. She looks a little faded and has a lot of color variation but I got her for a really great price so I'm hoping to be able to do something with her. any advice? Here are some links to pics the seller sent to me. Hopefully I will have her by Friday! Thanks for any tips/advice...I can use any knowledge!

You could try Meltonian cream to even out the color. I don't know if they have anything that's an exact match though. And of course, you could send the bag to Lovin' My Bags and let them work their magic.

Just search for it online, I think? They have a website. I was browsing around in the Hermes forum, and a leather care expert there recommends it for slight color modifications or revivals.

what kind of lining does this bag have? it looks like sky blue to me...which is an old school bag!

RM used to have a chain as an accessory, but they are long gone. You can get a short one from silver-coach on ebay or find your own.

It looks like it has the mixed gold hw with the square rings. I'm guessing it was the blue wave without the orange piping from Gilt last year. Pretty color!

Werid that a newer bag like this is already so faded. Wondering if it was a sample or one off? The color is pretty regardless, just needs a little TLC!

As for the chains, RM doesn't make them anymore but there is a seller on ebay who specializes in chains and you can order different sizes and colors etc..

(I believe you can also ask for trigger clips too)

This is the description from the original owner.

"VERY gently used, well-cared-for, genuine Rebecca Minkoff Morning After Bag (MAB), no strap, with original white dust bag. Color is blue (more periwinkle than deep blue-- color is pretty accurate in the pictures); cloth lining is skinny white and royal blue stripes. Purchased in July 2009, carried only a couple of times. Genuine Italian super-soft leather with custom gold-tone hardware (including metal feet to protect the bottom of the bag). Zip top, front flap pocket with tassel pull-tabs, interior has one large zipper pocket and three smaller open pockets.

Cost when new was $635.

There is only one very small spot/discoloration on the bottom of the bag (visible in the close-up photo 4)-- otherwise in like-new condition. There is some variation in the leather color, mainly along seams (an example also is visible in photo 4)-- these variations are a natural result of the leather dyeing process and were present when the bag was purchased.

Dimensions: 14.5" x 8.5" x 9", with a 6.5" handle drop."

Thanks for all of the advice ladies. I searched this periwinkle leather and it seems to be notorious for these color issues. Oh well, I'll see how she looks when she gets here. Maybe she can just be my knocking around bag.

That can't be periwinkle....Didn't that come with silver hardware??....and a purple zipper track....seems like Cheryl24 has a periwinkle MAM.

The OP's MAB looks blue...a very pretty blue...I've never seen discoloration in RM's leathers like this. I wonder if the seller discolored it with something??

LMB should be able to help you.

Also....BTW....Retail for MABs is $595.00 ....the seller got that wrong....

Some BWs are priced a little more and at one time the MABs with straps retailed for the higher price....
