I prefer a longer strap drop, the length on the XL was great but as you know it was a pretty big bag.

So the large did not have enough drop. Thats too bad, b/c the maxi was huge on you. I sold the 3 i had - beautiful bags - but just too big

Maybe if I had a large that was more broken in, the ones I had were all still pretty stiff.

Thats the key. They break in so nicely, giving the straps more drop. Would be great if you found a broken in bag thats still in nice condition.
