Bottega Veneta color transfer when wet. Wallet recommendations?

My Bottega Veneta wallet sheds color when wet. (The first paper towel was way more red) Luckily everything inside was dry.

Two questions: anything I can do to waterproof the leather? Any other recommendations for weatherproof/waterproof wallets that aren't Louis Vuitton? I love the Dior pebbled leather and lambskin but I've never been convinced they wear well.

Longchamp, especially Le Foulonné wallets. Never had a problem under any circumstances and they come in so many designs and colors you'd be hard pushed not to find a favorite!

For waterproof leather I would suggest Saffiano leather, I’ve been caught in the rain with my Prada and Ferragamo saffiano bags (the Prada bag even had coffee spilt all over it) and they still look as good as new. I would not recommend Dior lambskin for a wallet, the leather is so delicate and will get scratched/colour transfered really easily.

this is pretty normal with real leather. Will you be in a habit of getting your wallet wet? You can use a wax-based conditioner like Obenaufs LP.

I'm not planning on it, but I live in a rainy place. Thanks for the tip!
