Book tote discolouration

Took my book tote out of the dust bag so that I could use it for work (have been working from home for >10 months since I bought this bag) and got a rude shock of how discoloured it is all around the seams (even on the inside) — is this a norm for book totes?

Yikes!! So horrified and in shock! I am not at home now but sadly ran across this thread. I want to run home to check my book tote ASAP. Looks like the colors are fading. I haven’t used my book tote for about two months now. I would expect to get a replacement or credit like two others have mentioned especially if it just started fading without reason. I had a green coat fade into blue.

Definitely bring this back to Dior for store credit or a replacement, as @bernpl said.

So my SA sent my discoloured book tote to the repair shop. They’ve gotten back to me and they are giving me store credit! Deciding what to get next now, probably gonna stay away from the grey book totes

Glad you got your money back.
Damn, I have a gray book tote…knock on wood… all has been ok so far. I think, it has happened to blue ones as well. Is it a chemical reaction to some lotions or sanitizer… did they say?

The SA said the repair shop didn't giver her an explanation as to why the dye faded. Its weird that its all around the top but not on the handle! I also never used a twilly.

Hi everyone, I thought I’d share my recent scare.

I’ve had my small book tote ever since they first came out and have worn it quite a few times. About a month ago I thought I’d finally send her in to get a personalization done.

Sadly, as I made my way to the store I noticed the discolouration. My sa said that he’s seen this happen with a few other book totes. She is currently sent out for inspection/repair. My SA couldn’t promise a fix but some of the other cases did so fingers crossed.

The discolouration were mostly on the centre top of the bag (above the dior logo), and on the side edges. The blue shading of the monogram turned a shade of purple. The bag smelled like vinegar too. No idea how this happened.

Wow! I wish I have known this before purchase . I was about to use it on the 4th of july weekend when I took it out of the dust bag I saw same discoloration on the top part of the bag and side. Very disappointed since it was a push gift from my husband and was unable to use it since I just got a baby. Such a bad purchase after spending extra amount of money for the bag +personalization.

Horrible. Reminds me to check mine, although I am not at home at the moment, and the last time I checked was during the last post six months ago. Hope you get a replacement or credit back.

Wow, not good at all. In some book totes it’s the glue apparently - watch ”a heated mess” Cindy on you tube - ” my Dior bag is defective and they tried to gaslight me “
her book tote went off colour all around the glue seams and they tried to say it was wear.
