He was one of my favourite comedians. His shows (The Bob Newhart Show and Newhart) were classic. I loved his deadpan delivery which he carried even into his eighties as an occasional guest on Big Bang Theory. RIP

Thank you for starting a thread for Bob Newhart. It would be wrong if he was missed for a tribute. You’re right, he had excellent comedic timing and such a subtle way of delivering his jokes. I don’t know of any newer comedians who really do deadpan well, most of them today seem too anxious to accentuate the punchline. It was a fairly common talent for earlier generations of comics.

Recently began watching Newhart, and enjoy it more this time around than the first time. RIP, Bob. And thanks.
Bob Newhart is one of my all-time favorite tv shows. The opening sequence from the first couple of seasons with the phone ringing, and him answering, "Hello," always makes me smile.

Good times. I grew up watching the Mary Tyler Moore, Bob Newhart and Carol Burnett line up on Saturday nights with my family. Who can forget the series finale to Newhart?
