I just received the Boarskin Town tote and the purse is really underwhelming. Maybe I'm not used to the leather. I do love how its a tall version of a borough bag.The description of the purse online mentioned a zip top closure and a suede lining. Has anyone else purchased this purse? If so, did yours have a zip top closure and suede lining as mine did not come with either? I'm at work so I can't post pics but I wanted to see if I could get some feedback.

That has to be a mistake then...when I saw the bag on Coach.com, I didn't remember their advertising a suede lining. But it's a beautiful bag! If the leather's not your cup of tea, maybe return it and get something else? When I touched it at the FP store, I remember thinking it was pretty stiff, so the style may not be for everyone.

Yes I just returned a Town Tote to Macy's yesterday and it had a pretty blue-lavender suede lining that I was terrified to use. Between that and it having handles that are hand carry only, I could not see using the bag much. The Town Tote is open top, though there is an inside zipper pocket. Sounds like maybe the description combined elements of the Borough (zippered top) with the Town (suede interior)?

No it was the bag they call "East West Town Tote in Retro Glove Leather" in the grey with blue inside. They made that one in the north south version too. The SA's were arguing over who was going to buy it :)

I have seen a few on eBay (not my auctions) recently if that is the one you are looking for.

I don't know if those who have and use the bag have any issues with it, but one other reason I returned it was that you could see that the glue used to bond the suede interior to the leather exterior was starting to wrinkle/pucker on the inside-and it was brand new!

I wonder if Coach is having glue problems. I noticed adhesive or glue on the bottom of the purse last night. It's very strange to see this on a purse that was originally sold for $500. My FP store just closed so I would have to do an exchange via mail and hope that the next one is better. Do you know of a way to get glue off of a purse. There's not much on there.

I hate to post negatives on this bag, but it might be helpful in making your decision. I almost bought one, when it was first released. My SA was contemplating buying one too.... but voiced her concern to me as to how it would break in. It's an embossed finish on the leather (that is why the grain is so uniform). Because it's coated - she didn't think it would develop a nice softness in the leather - and might not wear as well. I opted not to buy, when I learned it was embossed.

Fast forward to a few months ago, and I saw one that was being returned to Macy's - for "wear" problems. It was horrible - still stiff, but cracking and color was wearing off.

If the price was right, and you really love the bag...maybe keeping it moisturized would help.

If the care card says you can use moisturizer, try using some on the glue spot (in a circular motion). The moisturizer is more gentle than the cleaner, and less likely to remove color.
