Hi everyone!
ok i guess i should start off by telling you my plans before i ask my questions lol.

I want to get a bracelet that i can wear for 24/7 and never take it off. I was thinking something along the lines of a pre-owned cartier love bracelet...but there is something about the fact that it is a bangle doesnt appeal to me. so in order for me to get the 24/7 effect and not being able to easily take it off and still get the symbolism of the cartier that i want im looking to find a chain bracelet that i like and taking it to a jeweler and having them change the clasp to a clasp that i can screw shut with a screw driver (does anyone know if that is even possible? there is a jeweler who makes custom stuff about an hour away from me i figured they could do it...right? lol)

but before i contact the jeweler i need to find the perfect band that can be easily worn all day every day and grow to become a part of me. in my quest i stumbled upon blue nile and they had some chains like this one:
http://www.bluenile.com/product_details.jsp?oid=3802&pid=GB45500800

but my only concern with that one is it may be too thin and therefore difficult to make another clasp with a screw for it.

I also was looking at the Rolo Chain,
http://www.bluenile.com/chain-platinum-bracelet_17055
it seems simple and classic enough right?

but my question to yall is do you think by looking at the Rolo Chain pictures do the links look a little not well made? like how they are welded? or am i trippin?

and do you think that i could attach a new screw clasp onto this bracelet?

also both bracelets would have to be extended about an inch if i decide to get one...is it even worth it? im mainly looking for a white metal (not silver) bracelet that is a little unique but not over the top that i can transform into my 24/7 never take it off type of bracelet.

Any input or thoughts would be great....and im sorry if my post was a little hard to follow

You can definitely have a jeweler remake a clasp the way you would like. It may take some custom working if the fastener isn't already available, but it is doable. Finding the right jeweler can be hard but when you do, they can work magic.

As for Blue Nile: My experience with them has been with their "Sterling Silver". Upon closer inspection of the piece I received, it did not have a Blue Nile marking (as seen in some of their rings) and it was apparently rhodium plated inferior silver. I have a feeling a lot of their ready-made pieces are actually manufactured elsewhere and sold by Blue Nile.

I would be concerned about the beaded link you posted. It may not stand up to daily wear if you're looking for something semi-permanent like the Love bracelet. And if you take a close look at the closeup for the Rolo Chain, I doubt you would think twice about purchasing it. There are MUCH smoother rolo chains out there. The price point is attractive, but I do not believe the bracelet will meet your expectations.

If you're going to the trouble of having a clasp made, talk to the jeweler about creating a bracelet for you instead :D!

Hope this helps.

Omg this helps a lot! Yea I don't know if the bead link will be strong enough. And you are so right about the rolo bracelet. Yikes.

As for making a completely custom bracelet I thought the price would be crazy high for them to make the whole bracelet rather than just the links. But that's kind of just my assumption.

Thank you so much for responding. I truly do appreciate it :smile1:
