Please post pics of your Blue Nile necklaces!

I'm thinking of buying a diamond solitaire pendant from Blue Nile but can't make up my mind on setting. I'm toying with the one pictured below or a bezel setting. I saw the bezel necklace in a thread from October but I would love to see more if you all have them! I thought the bezel setting would be slightly better for a small diamond necklace but I'm not crazy about the chain and think the flipping would bug me a lot.

I only want to spend $1,000 and am looking at around 0.4ct round, ideal cut, H or I, SI1 or VS2. What kind of specs should I be aiming for in a small diamond solitaire necklace?

This would be my first "bigger" jewelry purchase. Eeek!

My Bluenile bezel set will be arriving today!!! I'll be posting when I get it and take some photos. I got a .32 H VS2 Ideal cut that I spend 4 SOLID days picking out. It was $706 after a coupon. I honestly think an SI1 or 2 would be fine if you email them about the diamonds you are interested in and find out how eyeclean they are. They will put the diamonds (2 or 3) on hold for you while you wait to hear about clarity and take time to choose. My favorite diamond was a J, but I was afraid of the tint. It probably would be fine, but I wanted this to be an heirloom piece in a sense, so I moved up in color for peace of mind. There was also an 0.35 I SI1 that was an AWESOME diamond, but I was too impatient to wait till monday when a jeweler could check out how eyeclean it was.
Here are two god ones that are still available but you would need to check on how eyeclean they are:

both might be a little smaller than your looking for though.
Here is a good signature ideal (their hearts and arrows):

also look for one in the 55-57% table range and the 60-62% depth range. There is so much more to it than that, but it's a good starting point. Feel free to post any diamonds you really like on here and we can give you a little more insight.

That would not be one I would choose. The table is rather small yet the crown angle is a bit on the steep side. Usually you see steep crown angles with larger tables, not smaller. But given the depth percentage, I'm going to say this is a slightly "steep and deep" diamond. That will lead to light leakage (ie a darker looking diamond). A diamond like this needs more light coming in from the sides and underneath also...something it won't likely get as a pendant.

I will say this about the stone you posted. With a small table and high crown like that, it will have a lot of fire likely, but it won't be as bright. Also, it will likely look smaller. So a more proportional .44 could look the same size, be brighter, have more white light return, suffer less from obstructions, and can still have lots of fire if picked carefully.

You said the links you posted were a bit better...what are not great about them?

The diamonds in the links I posted are great diamonds. By saying "a bit better" I was trying to be tactful so it didn't sound like I was trashing your first one :-)
It's really hard to tell more about a diamond without knowing the crown and pavilion angles too. Going off the information you posted, I personally wouldn't want a diamond with a depth % more than 62% so of the above, I would look more into the 0.42 H Vs2
