blindstamps?

Please forgive me if a thread was already started on this topic. I wan to learn all that i can and rather quickly since Hermes is all i can think about. With blindstamps, they represent the year is was made? are there letters inside circles and squares? what do the different shapes represent? thank you.

The blindstamps go alphabetically and the first blindstamp is A without anything, which represents 1945.
Then 26 years later the letters started having circles and 26 years after that the circles got replaced by squares.
