I've been going back and forth as to which color I prefer, I like the smoke color because its different from all my other black bags however every time I see the smoke color it looks different

I prefer the color that shows up on barneys website, but it seems like that is not really the true color of the bag.

What does everyone think/prefer

Smoke is a color that Proenza has been making for years. So the reason it may look different is the bag pictured could be from a different season (also just differences in photography). Over time smoke has moved from being more of a taupe grey to more of true smoke-y grey. It depends on your preference. Older models of smoke were also known to patina over time, though I don't think the newer ones do this as much. So it really depends what you're after, Proenza makes very beautiful grey bags that are more interesting than other designers, in my opinion. HTH!

EDIT: I just saw that both those bags you linked to have the new season lining. So in that case it's probably more likely a different in photography. Forward uses some pretty strong contrast and lighting, I've found things often look more saturated in their photos than they look in real life.

For some reason, I've noticed all PS1 colours look different on the Barney's website. I think it's the lighting they use.

Regardless, I vote smoke. It's a great neutral and alternative to basic black.

I actually got the exact one from Forward and it's a tiny bit darker in real life than their image. Indoors with just regular lighting it can look like a very dark grey taupe. In sunlight or brighter (white) lighting it's more similar to the image.

With a doubt, Smoke!!! It's a gorgeous color. I have it in the Pouch and it matches everything. I too was between that and black and I am sooo happy I chose Smoke

I would get the Smoke. Of course, black is classic and all that - but Smoke is a great neutral that goes with everything just as well as black, plus I think you "see" the bag and the detailing a lot more in other colors.

Another vote for Smoke. I was just looking at all of the different colors of this bag. Smoke is such a fantastic neutral. I would only get Black if you are a mostly black clothing dresser. Otherwise, Smoke would go with most colors.

I've been seeing a lot of black Ps1's and every time I see the smoke it seems to be a different version.

What does everyone prefer on the black black hardware or the gunmetal?
