I don't think so ... but it can be varying degrees of black with other colors added in. I personally love dark nail polish. Remember when Chanel Vamp came out? I still have my original bottle.

I think you can wear dark colors at any age.
Agree. But, I’m 55 and I prefer a dark gray or natural pedicure as I get older lol. I think it depends on whether dark washes out your complexion or not, and how it works with your wardrobe.

I love dark colours. Greys and burgundy and blue. But I don’t love black. It’s too stark and reminds me a bit too much of high school…

But, if YOU love it no way your age should be an indicator if you can wear it. Rock it.

I'm late to this thread, but NO it is not just for the young, coming from someone who is in the middle in my my mid-thirties! I honestly love and am always inspired by older ladies sporting dark nails and fashion, and aspire to be that way as I continue to age.

As an aside for anyone interested, a great long-lasting one-coat black (And my go-to) is Memento Mori by Cirque Colours seen here -- in fact I have far too many of their polishes, and while most are two coaters, the quality is really great and long lasting.
