Black Leather Slouchy Bag

Hope this is in the right section..

So again I am on the hunt for a bag, this time an expensive designer not an option. I am basically looking for a medium to large soft (ish) slouchy black hobo type bag to chuck all of my day to day stuff in. I remember a thread I posted a while

I dont really want to pay more than £60, it needs to be something robust enough to handle day to day living, expensive enough to actually feel nice but inexpensive enough so that when I take it to work I dont have to worry.

A quick ebay search came up with nothing that I like, I think the kind of shape I am looking for is kind of Bottega Veneta kind of look but I would prefer it to be plain, not woven or with any kind of pattern.

UK based pretty much a necessity.

If it weren't for your leather requirement I'd suggest Kipling, oggers86. Their prices are great and they're very light, hard-wearing and practically indestructible. They also have very good designs. Other than that, I'd suggest a good rummage in TK Maxx. I know from experience that the branches vary a lot, but you might hit on a great deal. Oh and what about M&S, in either the Per Una or Autograph lines? Good luck!

I think J. Crew ships to the UK. I would suggest the black Marlow hobo - a bit more than your price point. They usually have sales and I got one for only $140.

Ooh.. I'd totally recommend the BV Hobo if it weren't for the price thing. This bag is the perfect black, slouchy hobo.

Have you looked at B-Low the Belt? One of my nieces got a bag very similar to what you're looking for last year. I think she found it at Bloomingdales but other stores carry the brand.

I've seen this one at bloomies -last year- and it is a GREAT alternative to the BV hobo for much, much less.

Elliott Lucca has some excellent Bottega-Venetta type designs. I know a lot of those incorporate woven leather, but they might have some that don't....you might also try See by Chloe - they pop up on clearance sites here and there (join Beyond the Rack, etc. and check their sales). I know they have a few bags with the same one-piece construction from the body to the shoulder "strap" of the hobo.

Hmm it seems all the ones I quite like are out of my price range, which isnt the point, I need something "cheap" so that I dont worry about it, otherwise my Mulberry Daria Hobo works perfectly. Thats the kind of shape I am looking for, just a quarter of the price
