Black Friday.. is it worth it?

Unless you're going to camp out for the 5 super cheap TV's/cameras/Ipods/insert appliance or electronic here that is basically a loss leader to get people in the store, what you buy on Black Friday isn't going to be that much cheaper than most other sales. Outlets are often not that cheap anyway, I don't think they are that much better on Black Friday. And clothes at the mall may be slightly more on sale, but the stuff will go even cheaper after Christmas.

not that i like spending, but Black Friday is soooo worth it to me. I have tons of people to buy for for Christmas and i get great deals for them on Black Friday every year! hubby and i already have our list ready. we'll go in the store together and he'll go straight in line at the register and i'll go around grabbing the stuff on our list lol......

really depend on what u need to buy.. Clothes not worth it that much.. the Designer Shoe and bags are much better deal that are after black friday.. For me this year ads for Black Friday are pretty disappointing.. Discount are mot huge as last year and items are more limited..

For me the deals aren't that great. The items I were interested in such as Plasma TVs and SLR cameras were on sale during the Summer. The advertised prices for Black Friday aren't as good as what I paid over the Summer.

It's worth it if you know what you are looking for. People there are usually not browsing! I've done it once and my mom was able to snag a cheap Garmin GPS and a camera SD card.

I went to Best Buy at 4AM a few years ago and it was MADNESS. I didn't buy anything but my guy friends were all going apeshit over the electronic sales so I went along with it. I worked at Old Navy as a teen on BF and the sales were mediocre but the first 100 people in line got free stuff so that was cool for them.

I would check if there are small boutiques in Seattle that carry items you can't buy in Vancouver or online. And if you are interested in going just as a fun trip as well. Otherwise with the travel expenses and time it wouldn't be worth it to me.

There will be a lot of online sales for Black Friday as well.

Has anyone gone to cabazon on black friday for the midnight madness? Worth it??
I've been to Cabazon on Black Friday before, and the craziest thing I see is Sergio Rossi $99/pair for ALL shoes, including boots. Of course I was there pretty late (noon-ish) and the store was wiped out, literally.

i saw the best buy ad for this year, and it's pretty weak. $50 off for a (still) $500 camera? Really? Eh.....

now that sergio rossi sale? that sounds pretty good!
maybe i will reconsider the outlet, although i know it will be a hot mess.

think about it - if it's not a crazy deal, and it would be there on wednesday before at the same price? i pass....

Depending on what you are looking to buy. If you are buying electronics, there are quite a few good deals out there for black friday. Kmart and target has 32" lcd under $250. Thats a good buy, as regular price for 32 is around $400. So are the garmin and ps3 bundles. Walmart has great deals every saturday for their "pre-black friday" sale. I am lucky to get a sharp 52" lcd for $898 and 46" lcd for $698. Its super great deal for me to pass up.

I heading down across the border from Vancouver as well. I'm definitely not going to do the drive all the way to downtown Seattle. I will probably go to the outlets and to bellingham. Never been to Black Friday yet so it'll be interesting. I hear its much better than our Boxing Day...

Personally this year, I don't think that black friday is going to be the best sales day to get stuff. With the economy and so many out of a job.... I believe there are going to be major discounts right before Christmas to get shoppers to buy!!
