There already exists a Black Friday thread under general shopping, but most of the posts are pertaining to clothes/shoes/purses/etc.

I thought that starting a Black Friday thread for Electronics under Computer & Electronics might get more posts pertaining to electronics. Hope it's ok with the mods

I'll start:

Best Buy is offering the 21" and 27" iMac for $150 less than the Apple store. Apple isn't known for Black Friday deals but I was told by a fanboy they offer little perks here and there (gift card, whatever). Perhaps a fangirl here would like to clear that up.

I always thought that Black Friday was nothing more than a marketing ploy to get people to turn out to stores to buy products that aren't even all-that heavily discounted but I think I'm deeply mistaken.

This is a 42" LCD TV Best Buy is offering for $199

And here is a laptop that beats the hell out of a Netbook for the price of one:

I was also browsing Gamestop's catalog for Black Friday deals and was really shocked at some of the prices I found. I am more in tune with the video game industry and what the prices are normally, and some of these prices are dramatic cuts from their ordinary prices, and they are popular best-selling titles too, so it's not like the cuts were needed.

Look at the front page. I am utterly shocked

4gb Xbox 360 for $149.99 (normally $199.99)
PS3 w/ Little Big Planet 2 & Ratchet & Clank $199.97 (normally $249.99)
Duke Nukem Forever $9.99 (I paid $29.99 for that game only a month ago)
Battlefield 3 for PS3 $39.99 (this game JUST came out a few months ago at $59.99 and is still a top 10 selling game)
Grand Theft Auto 4 PS3/XB360 $9.99 (New copy too, normally $19.99)
Call of Duty Black Ops PS3/XB360 $34.99 (Normally $59.99, demand hasn't gone done in spite of MW3 because of zombie mode)
Gears of War 3 XB360 Save $20 (currently retailing at $59.99)
LA Noire PS3/XB360 $19.99 New (I seriously can't believe this, was $39.99)
Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition XB360 $19.99 New (I paid $34.99 for a used copy of this game only 2 months ago, normally $39.99 new)
Buy 2 get 1 free on all used titles

I just wish they were offering discounts on Modern Warfare 3 and Skyrim (offering Jurassic Park for free for purchasing 2 new games wouldn't hurt either, I swear if they offered that I'd buy both MW3 and Skyrim on the spot for it). But all of those titles I listed above are all still hot sellers. I wonder how long those prices are gonna stay that low.

At :27 look at how crazy that girl looks on the lower right lol

Correction: This year, I am mistaken about Apple. They are having significant Black Friday price cuts as well, but they weren't announced and published ahead of time. Guess they wanted to surprise everyone
