Black enamel on Tiffany charms wearing off

Hello everyone! This is only my third post here. I’d like to ask anyone if they have charms with black enamel which have worn off. I read a post today about lady who said that her black enamel high heel shoe had worn away down to the silver.

I want to purchase the Tiffany penguin charm (currently on their website) and wear it every year, starting on Thanksgiving and wearing it until Jan 6th every year. I’ll be wearing it as a pendant on a necklace. I LLOOVVEE this charm, but should I buy it if the enamel will wear down? The penguin is wearing a hat, so if it reduces down to an all-silver charm, it’ll be hard to tell it is a penguin. If that’s the case, then I should just buy Tiffany’s all-silver vintage penguin charm from a couple decades ago on an auction site.

Any thoughts?

Enamel charms tend to wear off when worn, especially if they get knocked around, whatever the colour. Perhaps your penguin pendant would not suffer too much knocking about but you still have to be careful about rubbing and scuffing, for example, your seatbelt. I suppose if you are really careful, it should be OK.
