Hi All,

My 23rd birthday is on Monday. I've been lurking these forums for a while. All of our bags make me drool. I hope to have the budget y'all have one day. Until then, I'll be sticking to what I can. I haven't been carrying a handbag around lately, I'm a college student so I primarily used my backpack and a wristlet. I'm ready to get back into carrying a handbag and thought I'd treat myself to a new one for my birthday.

All the handbags I loved were over $1,500 and I simply can't splurge that much. I checked out Nordstrom and none of the bags in my price range really popped out at me. So far the only one I liked was the Phillip Lim mini satchel (it was a little over my price range at $645 I think).

Ideally I would like a black handbag, perhaps gold or rose gold hardware. Do you have any recommendations? :graucho:

You might want to wait a bit past your birthday and get something awesome once the sales hit (Gucci, Fendi, Bottega Veneta, Burberry, etc...). At least that's what I'd do given a 645$ budget.

For the Philip Lim bag or other bags that are just slightly out of your budget like that, check the secondhand market. That may bring the bag into reach for you. Here's what YC has in Philip Lim, almost all are under $500. https://www.yoogiscloset.com/handbags?dir=desc&manufacturer=3_1_phillip_lim&order=received

Also check for coupon codes before you buy anything. I saved $50 at Yoogi's Closet last week just by googling for a coupon code before I ordered. That would bring that bag even more into your price range.

If possible, Saks and Neiman sometimes have % off coupons, a specific amount off whatever promo, or the gift card event which could help bring the Pashli closer to your price range. some ******** sites also has 10% off alot of times also.

I agree with all the previous posts but also wanted to mention Brahmin bags. They have beautiful leather bags, most under $500. Of course there is also Coach and Dooney, Michael Kors and Kate Spade. But Brahmin doesn't have their own thread in the contemporary forum so I thought I'd give them a shout out too:).
