Birkin with an small "s" underneith the heat stamp

I just saw a Birkin with a small s engraved under the heat stamp. Does anyone know what that means. I couldn't imagen Birkins ever being on sale?
I'm sure there's a thread regarding this somewhere but after intense search gave up to find it. If so pls. Redirect me right.
