Birkin question

Hi everyone:

I recently bought a 35cm Birkin in Alezan in the ala moana store in Honolulu. I've been reading threads, and several people say that their receipt contains information on leather type and color, but mine doesn't seem to. I think that it's togo, but I'm not sure - the SA told me that it was, but she was obviously new (she had to write her name on a business card). In any event, is that information always on the receipt - am I just looking in the wrong place? I'm certain that it's alezan, but find it a little strange that the receipt doesn't mention color/leather....

Anyone else notice the same?

You piqued my curiosity so I grabbed all my receipts for a quick look. My receipts from the Wall Street store never seem to show color/leather or colorway for scarves, but from the Riverside store, Madison, FSH, and Boston (the only other places I've actually made purchases) they do. Odd.

I have receipts with the information on exact colour name and leather name but not on all of my receipts, so maybe it is different from shop to shop?

I think it is different depending on the store, I have bags from different stores within the UK and they all have different information, some have the colour/leather some don't. I guess it is another quirk of Hermes.

I have receipts from two different stores in the US and neither of them state color or leather. One reads 32 Kelly and the other 35 Birkin.

Most private shops don't have any info....others vary - some even include color - some nothing!

I agree- have even had some hand written ones from H shops in Europe which totally depend on what the SA wants to put on it- some detailed and some practically no detail save for what the item is!

It's interesting, I had a quick look at my receipts from FSH and other stores, and they all had the colours and leathers printed...I agree with everyone, seems like it really does vary from store to store!

I can relate. I bought a 30cm Birkin from the Ala Moana store from an SA named Julie. She told me it was chocolate. I looked at the receipt and it doesn't say anything about the color or the leather. I looked at several of the posts here and I think the color is actually "ebene". By any chance, was the SA you dealt with named "Julie"? Maybe we encountered the same person!

Hi CocoB! I bought a 30cm Birkin from the Ala Moana Hermes about a year ago and my receipt has no info in regards to color & leather. San Francisco Hermes also did not have info on the receipt; however, my SA included the tag that contained color & leather info along with my bag. I believe there are some Hermes boutiques that have receipts with info while others do not have info unless if the SA includes the tag. Congrats on your new 35cm Birkin!
