Birkin question in London for UK TBFers

Does anyone know whether London still operates a waiting list for the Birkin and how long the wait is for? I'm looking for one in a classic colour (gold/noir/etaupe) and a leather such as togo or clemence, hopefully it's not too long a wait?

I was in Paris a few weeks ago and went to FSH but no luck there.

Any tips on getting one in London and which stores - Harrods, Sloane St or Bond St? Harrods probably suits me the best as I shop there a lot...
