It's difficult to estimate the real amount of birkins in production each year... Here is what I have heard from the youtube video: every specialist who works in Hermes is able to make 1-2 birkins per week, and there are around 70 specialists (not so sure) in Paris...

Hermes will never reveal this. It will throw all their well-laid marketing plans to the bin.
A good guess - it's definitely many times more than they actually say they make, for sure.
Based on the estimations in this thread, it would seem that they only make:
- 52 Birkins a year (1 per week) - impossible. There are more than 52 H tPFers who have bought more than 1 Birkin in the past year alone.
- 104 Birkins a year per craftsman (2 per week per craftsman) x (approx.) 70 craftsman = 7280 Birkins a year in total
This number seems probable - until you think about the number of Birkins available in Japan alone. Many stores have about 6-7 Birkins available each day (e.g. FSH) so it's definitely more than 7280 Birkins a year.

I think they have upped the number of trained craftsppl by quite a bit and with the opening of more stores and increased inventory, I'm sure the original fabled numbers are out of date.
