Birkin newbie

From what I understand Tpf is the best place to learn about Birkins...so I finally have a great occasion to splurge on a Birkin (2nd baby on the way) and wanted to know what the best Birkin to buy...size wise, color, something that will stay timeless but trendy and go with everything (or staple outfits)...Also need recommendations on resellers...I dont want any drama with authentication...
please help!

Welcome to tPF!

The forum is a wealth of info about Hermes and all its products - so i recommend reading through slowly (start with the Reference Library and drool over the pics!)
