Hey ladies, I am torn between the following color and leather choices.

** Thoughts about Epsom v Togo for B35? Does the bag become slouchy after use?

a) Birkin 35 Blue de Malte Epsom in SHW N square (like new with seals on)
b) Birkin 35 Malachite Togo in GHW Q Stamp (like new)
c) Birkin 35 Feu Epsom in SHW R Stamp (Brand new)
d) Birkin 35 gris tourterelle togo GHW T Stamp (like new)
e) Birkin 35 Capucine SHW X Stamp Togo (Brand New)
f) Birkin 35 Rouge Casque R Stamp Clemance (Brand New)

OR should I just say no to B35? And go for a B30? I am worried that it might be too big. I am 1.7m but into the medium size - small bags.

GT Togo all the way!! It’s a gorgeous color and Togo or Clemence is my preference (not a fan of Epsom on Birkins). I actually prefer the 35 size (I’m around your height - 5’4”) and think the 35 looks beat proportion-wise to my body (my 30 looks a smidge too small).

All those other colors are gorgeous but I think I’d prefer them in a smaller size (rather than 35) since they are pretty bold.

I am also not a fan of Epsom, generally prefer Togo over Clemence due to the weight differential, and prefer GHW. So for a B35 I would choose Gris T, as I also prefer more neutral colors in larger bags. For a B30, I would still choose Gris T! They are all gorgeous colors, but in my opinion Gris T is exquisite.

Totally agree with two previous members! Gris T is exquisite, waiting for mine in 35 to arrive.. As for other colors I would choose Malachite but in smaller size (30) or Bleu de Malte 35 (although Epsom is not my favourite leather). Also, I am your height and think 35 looks better on me than 30. But I have one 30 and planning to get one more because I want a bright color, small size B for more relaxed use like holidays. Good luck choosing!

You might take into consideration as well, how much you carry and what fits your personal lifestyle in the end. I have several B35 that I haven't been using much lately, because I'm switching over to the B30. A 35 gets so heavy, when you actually carry stuff throughout the day.. Regarding the color, you have a great selection to chose from. I'd go for GT or RC. My sister in law has a B30 in RC Clemence leather, and its stunning. I have a B35 in Feu, but mine is in Clemence not Epsom... good luck choosing!

Of all those I'd choose Gris T, but that's just a personal color preference bc I'm searching for a perfect neutral myself.

My only B is a B30 in epsom, and I love that size and I like the Epsom. But I think I would prefer Togo to epsom. Epsom is light weight and holds itself together tight in a B, but I prefer the feel of togo as its more luxurious.

However if you are doubting size, then hold out for a B30. (The most important thing you said is you are doubting the size a bit. I would pay attention to this thought if you are having it.)

I'm personally not a fan of Epsom. Don't own any bags in it, but is it true it doesn't wear well?

I have two B35s, but I'd like a B30 next. I personally think B35s look completely proportionate to my 5'4" frame, but it can get heavy.

Should definitely add a B30 to your current B family . From my experience of owning both sizes and both leather types (I'm 5'3") my experience is it mainly depends on how much you'll carry in your future B30.
- If you want the B30 to be a workhorse and provide huge relief for your arm, go for Epsom since it'll be super lightweight.
- If the B30 is more of an errand/casual bag, go with any of your preferred leather type since the weight wouldn't be the major factor here.
- Personally I'd only go for Epsom for B30 and smaller, or Sellier Kelly because the structured look simply doesn't work as well on bigger bags.

Regarding Epsom leather, personally I don't and haven't noticed any inferiority comparing to togo and clemence after owning two Epsom B and K for almost 4 years now. Mostly it's down to personal preference on the leather texture and appearance.

Hopefully this helps?

Hello ladies, it seems like the preferred choice is a GT and also many girls prefer Togo on the bigger bags. I'm just a little concerned because I had reports that the togo slouches after repeated use. I want a B35 for work. But admittedly, all I really put in is my wallet, keys and phone. That's why I was not sure re B30 v B35. But it is so hard to get a B30 here unless you pay tons through resellers or you get an older stamp.

All leather types will show wear eventually, but Togo ages much more gracefully than Epsom does, especially in a bag that is not very small. Check out photos online of Epsom bags that are not new and you will see how scuffs are hard to refurbish, but more significantly, how they can get indentation marks that are much less easy to look at than some slouch (which can be corrected to a great degree with a bag liner). Togo will slouch less than clemence in the choices you have listed. From your choices, I would choose Gris T or Malachite. I am 5'4" and slim and B35 looks proportional on me. B30 is also fine in size, it is just more of a purse than a tote.
