I want to , but my purchase history is limited . But I don’t want to come off as wanting one right away . I am not in
A major rush for one . But it’s something I would like to have more information about so when I am ready pull the trigger I can be ready .
I would guess price of a 35cm plus about 10-15% more. The prices go up every year also. 40cm is not a popular size right now, so if you would consider preowned, you might get a good deal. My guess is that large bags will come back in style once this micro size bag trend has run its course.
It’s interesting you say that cause i have been told by people . Getting a 40cm won’t be that hard at the store cause the size demand isn’t that strong but also getting pre loved is a significant savings . So it’s a good way to look at on both sides .
Nothing wrong ask your SA about the pricing even when you are not ready. Next time you stop by you can briefly bring up the subject during the conversation. Also you can look up the following thread and probably PM few members regarding their B40 ...good luck.

My experience since shopping at Hermès is that the idea of a “purchase history” is something imposed by a SA or boutique. You shouldn’t feel uncomfortable asking your SA for pricing info.
Yes that’s the route I am going . It’s going to easier and save a few thousand . Lol
I don't know about in the US, but in my country, you can call up my country's Hermes customer service number and ask for pricing info there. They won't sell you one but they can tell you the price.
yes, the demand for 40cm is low and supposedly it is 'easier' to get, but at the same time stores dont usually order 40cm because of the lower demand. stores usually use the quota to buy 30/25 which are more popular size. In other words, the demand is low but the supply is also low. you are more like competing with guys for the same bag. good luck in your B40 hunting.
Well, the demand of 40cm is definitely lower, however most stores aren't ordering them as much. For example, several stores I know don't even order 40cm at all. There will limit the chance to get offer.

The bases of Birkins are quite large and get proportionately larger in all dimensions as the bags get bigger. You need to make sure that you are comfortable with the larger depth of a 40 against your body.
