Both are black satchels, chunky brass hardware, similar shape. I love them both.
I have a dark brown Chloe paddington (bought secondhand), and a Dooney Florentine Vechatta medium satchel in natural.
The Dooney leather is butter soft, silky and heavenly even after 6 years. the chloe is about 11 years old. I prefer the Dooney leather to the Chloe.
It's time to touch and feel them in person. Pics can only go so far :)

Dooney-this pic really shows how supple and buttery the leather isL

I'm not particularly a fan of the Marcie, and my concern about the D&B is the weight. But this is your bag, not mine. I would think through why you like the D&B you have better than the Paddington. The weight? I've seen many complaints that the Paddington is very heavy. The size? Is it more practical, either because it holds more or the construction of the bag makes it easier to use and wear, etc.? I think if you can answer that question, you'll have an easier time with this decision. And honestly, if you see them both in person and STILL can't decide, then stop and wait for something better. Good luck and have fun.

I'm not a fan of the Marcie and I have long liked the Dooney so this would be an easy choice for me. But I think you're making the right move. Try on both and see which speaks to you. Let us know what you decide.

Ladies, I bought the dooney florentine dome bucket satchel in black. I saw the medium marcie in person at Saks and it failed the "touch" test. The leather just was too light, not smooth enough, the bag itself not roomy enough. Now the large Marcie would have been a serious contender but it doesn't have a shoulder strap.

So I learned a few things: that I'm forever in love with the dooney florentine collection AND.....i touched and tried on a bottega veneta. OMIGOD.
I learned that a large Bottega Veneta hobo will be my very first, never been used, designer handbag purchase. I spent 1/2 hour at the bottega counter at NM and it was love. The heart wants what it wants! Like the dooney florentine, it's the smoothness and my percieved durability of the leather that grabs me.

Yay! I'm glad you're happy with your choice. A BV is also on my wish list. I also saw them once in NM, and actually went into the boutique in NYC once, and they're just beautiful.
