It's nice to hear that the sexiest people alive can be pretty beautiful on the inside, as well.

Determined to give back this summer, Jessica Biel, currently Esquire's Sexiest Woman Alive, put herself on the auction block for a Colorado teen who was seriously injured in a prom night accident and walked away with a date and $30,000 to put toward the girl's medical expenses.

Without even having to be there, that's how darn sexy she is.

The highest bid came from a man identified only as "John," a senior VP at an oil and gas company in Denver, per the Rocky Mountain News, who won a lunch date with the 7th Heaven star.

"I promise, I'm a cheap date," Biel, who grew up in Boulder, said in a taped message that was played Tuesday at the fundraiser dubbed Mollypalooza in honor of Molly Bloom, who lost her left leg and part of her pelvis May 13 after she was hit and dragged 38 feet by a Hummer stretch limo.

Ten eligible young men also put themselves in bidders' hands that night and about $44,000 was raised for Bloom, who's undergoing physical therapy at a Denver hospital.

Biel has been in Italy filming the sci-fi thriller Next with Nicolas Cage and Julianne Moore, but will be in town to dine with "John" on Aug. 18 and receive a humanitarian award, Mollypalooza organizer Jeanne Lee told the Associated Press.

Biel's father, Jon, told KMGH-TV that the lunch date was his daughter's idea.

"She has this opportunity to create a buzz that would provide some support and she's more than happy to do that," he said.

Meanwhile, in Y-chromosome territory, People magazine's resident Sexiest Man Alive, Matthew McConaughey, is also putting his mass appeal to good use.

The Failure to Launch star is auctioning off his 1971 Stingray Corvette on eBay to benefit Hurricane Katrina and Rita victims and rebuilding efforts. One hundred percent of the proceeds will go to Oprah Winfrey's Angel Network, which in turn will dole out the funds.

"I admire and enjoy this car, but it?s a luxury that I?m willin' to relinquish at this point because I am fortunate enough to have everythin' I need, and the sale of it will help so many with the necessities in life, part of stayin' connected with an on-goin' cause to help those in need for the long term," McConaughey said in a statement on his eBay listing site. "Besides, I can?t pull my Airstream with it!"

Bidding for the Mediterranean-blue, "quintessential, bare bones, badass American sports car" with a white convertible top was at $44,100.50 as of 3:10 p.m. on Thursday.

  2. They both seem to be genuinely principled people. A rarity in Hollywood for sure...
