http://www.idontlikeyouinthatway.com/uploaded_images/bk6thumb-767130.jpg Matthew Knowles expressed his disgust with a somewhat familiar sounding rant.

Following her Best Actress and Best Song losses at the Golden Globes, Beyonce's famously kind Father told a bunch of reporters that he thinks the awards are racist. Of course, his daughter did lose to two of the most legendary artists in their fields–Meryl Streep and Prince–but he wasn't having any of that "logic."
Knowles told reporters back stage at the Beverly Hills Hilton right after the Golden Globes show ended that his daughter was outcasted and overlooked by a bureaucratic good old boy system that is still alive in 2007 as it was in 1967. "Today is MLK's birthday and it saddens me to say that things have not changed for blacks. Working class blacks and blacks in Hollywood are still being discriminated against. We still have a long way to go," he said."

oh yeah, cos the last time I looked, Prince was white????

Maybe, Mr. Knowles its because Beyonce just wasn't that good in the role? I mean, just because everyone is being told she is great in it, doesn't mean she really is.

Uhm soooo what race are:

Prince
Jennifer Hudson
Eddie Murphy
Forrest Whitaker

all of whom won awards that night? :confused1:

He should be absolutely ashamed of himself to use Dr. King's name to b!tch about his daughter not winning a golden globe. It's absolutely sickening that he would trivalize the civil rights movement over something so stupid.:cursing:

I triple that! That family should count the blessings they have and admit that there are other talented people in the world and Beyonce will not always be the best at something.

I totally agree with you!

He's just pissed off his daughter didn't win, so he's playing an unnecessary race card.

You know, you don't want to have to go to past Golden Globes winners to see which ones were black (Halle Barry? Jaime Foxx? Those are the two off the top of my head, and they both went on to win Oscars) but when someone makes a comment like that, you just SO want to prove them wrong.

To add: It's not enough that her gown screams "Look at me!" but she also has to win both awards she was nominated for, or else it's racism?

And last I checked, Vanessa Williams is black, and the show she's on, Ugly Betty, won for Best Television Musical or Comedy.

Perfectly stated. That's exactly how I feel.

I too do not understand why he is crying racism when people like eddie murphy and jennifer hudson deservedly won awards that night.

Why does he have to bering racism into it. It's so unfair that people do this. We need to stop crying racism at every situation and focus on real racism which I am afraid still occurs today. Like for example, over here in the UK, in a show called Celebrity Big Brother there are 3 minor celebrities (non-celebrities if you ask me) who are accused of the racist bullying of an Indian Superstar and of course we in the UK do not tolerate any form of racism and of course an uproar was caused.

B's dad should be ashamed of himself.
