Beware of pearl straps

I just purchased the new cross body hobo bag with a pearl strap. The bag was shipped to me and when I pulled out the bag from the dust bag, pearls went flying everywhere! Turns out the wire snapped in half. Can’t believe this bag is over 4K! Just wanted to warn anyone in case they were interested in a bag with a similar strap.

I'm so sorry this happened to you. I know several people on this forum expressed concern on something like this happening with pearl straps....now we know it really is possible!

Just as i assumed.
I was this bag on their website and thought, “now how are those pearls connected, thread or wire?” I right away thought it was a bag construction of a bag.
Over time the wire (just like here) will snap, tear, and break from pulling and/or bending.

Good to know this is not common as I regretted my purchase when I saw this post. Hopefully this is just an isolated case. Glad you were able to return your bag, anmidr1.

Hey guys- going to revive this thread for a sec.

So I saw the pearl woc (see pic below) today in store. Didn’t ask to see it, but I’ve always admired it.

Are the pearls strung together by wire and might/eventually end up snapping in half like OP? Would appreciate any feedback/reviews.
